The Gospel

The Gospel is the very center of our church at Windsor Park and of our entire Christian community. It’s the story about the identity and works of God and the relationship between him and what he has created. Belief in this story goes beyond a mere acknowledgement that it’s true; true belief is rearranging the pattern of one’s life to align with the principles of the story.

At the very beginning of this Gospel story is God, who made the universe and all that is in it. The human race is the most special part of all that God created, but mankind has rejected God in an attempt to control their own lives and secure their own happiness. Throughout human history, we see that this attempt has not been successful because, as it turns out, we’re quite incapable of producing for ourselves lasting happiness. In fact, it’s just the opposite, we achieve for ourselves and others despair through our decisions.

However, at the center of this Gospel story is a man, Jesus, and the central events in Jesus’s life are his death and resurrection. The Christian community over the past 2,000 years has believed that the death of Jesus, in some mysterious and spiritual way, removes our record of wrongs and grants to us Jesus’s perfect record of righteousness. Additionally, the resurrection of Jesus promises us a new life, one of peace and joy through emulating the pattern of Jesus in our own lives.

This is our chief goal at Windsor Park, to believe this story and to help one another become better and better at acting like Jesus in our lives. We invite you to join us!
